What is MovingVoice?
MovingVoice is a way to reclaim parts of your voice that have been shut down in order to fit in. Eve creates a safe space to heal and empower your voice through improvisational sound and movement.
Your body is the instrument and channel for what moves through you and beyond. This includes your breath, voice and energy, as well as feelings, thoughts, sensations and spirit. You can try to control everything you do or surrender to something greater, allowing your body and voice to resound with all the colors of who you are.
As you trust more deeply and give voice to what moves through you, you move others. And in turn, others connect with themselves more deeply. Life becomes more satisfying and joyful!
MovingVoice is for you if you feel:
- I want to be myself but then I feel shame about being too weird, too big, too sensitive or too emotional.
- I’m afraid to speak my truth. If I speak up, it’ll hurt others’ feelings or they’ll feel attacked and just react, so it’s easier to not say anything. But then I end up feeling trapped inside myself, lonely and unmet.
- I loved to sing when I was little but now I get critical of my voice and afraid that I’m not good enough. So, I don’t sing much anymore.
- I avoid conflict. I find myself being nice and accommodating but then I feel frustrated because I’m overriding what’s true for me.
- I have chronic pain that leaves me feeling overwhelmed, hopeless and alone. I feel like I don’t have enough resilience to live my life in a satisfying way.
- I have pain and tightness in my chest and throat. My 5th Chakra is blocked.
- I’m afraid of coming out with my feelings because people will rush in to fix it. They won’t understand or take my feelings seriously. It’s better if I keep my feelings to myself.
Each client arrives with their own goals, gifts and also blocks to those gifts. My MA in Vocal Performance, deep study of body-centered therapies, and personal journey beyond trauma make me uniquely qualified to this meaningful work.
Transformations clients share:
- I feel more myself and not so anxious about what other people think
- I’m able to speak up for myself and feel less afraid about how others will react
- I find it easier to express my feelings instead of keeping them trapped inside
- I’m much freer with my expression and more in my heart
- It feels great to finally sing from my heart in a bigger and more joyful way
- What a relief to let go and enjoy being playful and singing in a group

FAQ's
One of the primary differences between MovingVoice Therapy and traditional talk therapy, is that it’s focused on paying attention to the sensations and emotions that are held in our body and giving them expression. We don’t just talk about things. We use mindful awareness to study and heal the blocks that occur around speaking up and expressing ourselves. The goal of MovingVoice Therapy is to build a more confident, expressive and joyful sense of Self by bringing more of our voice into the world.
I call myself an Expressive Voice Psychotherapist because I believe that our ability to express ourselves through our voice, is how we become truly ourselves and build meaningful connections in our lives. If the blocks to speaking up, are too great, we remain stuck and frozen inside, unable to bring our deepest selves into our lives, and this can be devastating.
The voice is wounded by experiences where our needs were not met, and it is healed by experiences, where there is space for those same needs to be heard and understood. In MovingVoice Therapy, we get to know these different parts of ourselves, to embody them and to give them voice. We gradually face the vulnerable parts of ourselves that have been stuck inside, lonely and confused, and we simultaneously grow the expressive, joyful and powerful parts of ourselves. We build a stronger sense of Self, a solid ground with roots that connect us to who we truly are and long to be.
MovingVoice Therapy stands on its own, as a way to heal your voice and your life. For anyone who feels that their voice, be it speaking or singing voice, is central to who they are, MovingVoice therapy is an ideal approach. For anyone who wants to get out of living in their head, and access the energy, aliveness and intelligence of the body, MovingVoice Therapy is an ideal approach.
It’s critical to understand that we face ourselves one step at a time, meeting our vulnerability and bringing it into connection, to heal it up. We titrate our experience, so that it’s manageable, not overwhelming, as it once was. As much as we might like to avoid facing our vulnerability, it is the courage to face ourselves and our feelings, that builds resilience in our nervous system and frees the voice.
