I invite you to come explore singing and playing with your voice in a small group.
I will help you to open, free and gain confidence in your Voice and your Self.

- Breathwork and vocal techniques to let go of tension, open and free your voice;
- Build Confidence and overcome anxiety using mindfulness to identify blocks and step fully into your voice;
- Group sounding and singing with toning, playful improvisations and simple songs.

Empowerment 1 is open to anyone who wants to expand their voice and bring it more fully into the world! It offers vocal technique for everyone, not just singers.
Empowerment 1 is an opportunity for a regular weekly practice with a small group to open and free your body, breath and voice, learn to play, improvise, harmonize and sing songs in a small group. You will build awareness of your edges and what limits your voice, lift up your voice, have fun and cultivate JOY! You can take this 4 week class again and again.
Goals:
- Identify and shift the habits that prevent you from realizing the potential of your natural voice;
- Connect with the joy, freedom and power that await you in your voice, whether you want to sing, express yourself creatively or reconnect with the essence of who you are;
- Build awareness and flexibility in your whole body because it is the vessel for the voice;
- Develop mindfulness as a tool to direct your attention inward and towards your present experience;
- Identify what’s in your way, overcome fear and claim your voice.
What to expect:
- BREATHWORK – slow down and sense how your breath works and how to ‘support’ your voice;
- PROJECTION AND POWER – let go of tension and control and allow breath and sound to flow through your whole body;
- A VIBRANT VOCAL TONE – create and shape the space inside your body, to allow your voice to resonate freely; develop awareness of posture, diaphragm, larynx, soft palate and more;
- GAIN CONFIDENCE AND OVERCOME ANXIETY – identify blocks to your voice and enjoy what your voice holds for you in this very moment;
- GROUP SOUNDING AND SINGING – enjoy the fun and freedom of toning, playful improvisations and simple songs in a supportive group.
For those who wish to go deeper, I offer a 6 week class, Movingvoice Empowerment 2, as well as individual sessions, to work beyond current limitations and reconnect with the essence of who you are.
MOVINGVOICE COLLABORATES WITH GUEST ARTIST Joanna Rotkin, dancer/choreographer
Dive into your body and push up against its liitations while softening into the radiance of the unknown. Use the raw physicality of the human body to create sound and movement in a welcoming envionment of exploration and investigation. Cultivate mindfulness, creative expression, freedom and connection by nurturing a deep trust in the body, mind, and spirit. Movingvoice strives to connect inner awareness and impulse with creative expression in sound and movement. The development of individual presence and awareness of the ensemble will be emphasized throught the class. Come explore the limitless potential of your “voice” through sound, movement, stillness and breath.
This workshop is open to anybody who is interested in deepening the rich potential of their expressive body. It is open to movers who are afraid to sound, sounders who are afraid to move, and everyone else in between.
